Gym Gets New Bleachers, Floor
The Activities Center gym got a much-needed facelift over spring term, when the old floor and bleachers were removed and a shiny new floor and bleachers were installed. Built in the mid-1970s, the gym bleachers had warped to the point of being difficult to move, and the floor had “dead spots,” where the ball suddenly loses its bounce. Most of the old wood from the bleachers and floor was reclaimed, including some scrap flooring that was went to Deluxe Brewing in Albany to be re-purposed into tables for patrons.
